The Complete Answer: What Is DXB Parking?
Visual overview of the structured parking zones and terminal access points at Dubai International Airport.
DXB parking refers to all parking facilities at Dubai International Airport, managed by the airport authority across Terminals 1, 2, and 3. The system offers three main categories: short-term parking for quick drop-offs and pickups, long-term parking for extended trips, and valet parking for premium convenience.
Definition: Short-term parking is designed for stays of a few hours, typically for dropping off or picking up passengers. Long-term parking is for stays of a day or more, often with a shuttle to the terminal.
Understanding the DXB Parking Ecosystem
The three parking categories serve different needs. Short-term parking is located close to the terminal and is charged by the hour. Long-term parking is farther out and usually includes a shuttle service. Valet parking lets you drop your car at the curb and walk straight in, which is ideal for travelers with tight schedules or heavy luggage.

Who Needs This Guide?
This guide is for anyone flying out of DXB, meeting arriving passengers, or visiting the airport. Common pain points include confusion over which terminal to park at, uncertainty about pricing, and worry about missing a flight because of parking delays. Knowing your terminal and parking type in advance removes most of that stress.
DXB Parking Terminals and Locations
Parking is available at all three terminals at DXB. Terminal 3 is the largest and serves most international carriers, while Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 have their own dedicated parking zones. The distance from the parking area to the check-in counters varies by terminal, so allow extra time if you are unfamiliar with the layout.
Terminal 1, 2, and 3 Parking Areas
Each terminal has its own parking structure, with clear signage directing drivers to short-term, long-term, and valet zones. If you park at one terminal but need to depart from another, use the inter-terminal shuttle service rather than walking. Check your flight details before entering the parking area to avoid the wrong terminal.
Quick Answer: Which terminal should I park at? Park at the terminal you are flying from. If you are unsure, check your flight details or ask the airport information desk before you enter the parking area.
Short-Term vs. Long-Term Parking
Short-term parking is best for stays of a few hours, such as picking up an arriving passenger. Long-term parking is designed for travelers leaving their car for several days or weeks and typically includes shuttle service to the terminal. Choose short-term for quick errands and long-term for vacations or business trips.
Valet Parking at DXB
Valet parking is a premium service that lets you drop your car at the curb and walk straight into the terminal. It saves time and avoids the walk from a distant parking spot. To use valet, follow the signs at the terminal entrance and hand your keys to the attendant. The service is available at selected terminals, and it is best to confirm availability and procedures on the official website before your trip.
DXB Parking Booking and Payment Methods
Booking ahead is the smartest way to guarantee a spot, especially during peak travel seasons. The official booking channels are the Dubai Airports website and mobile app, and you will need your vehicle details and flight information to complete a reservation.

Tips for a Smooth Parking Experience
Arrive early, especially during peak travel seasons, to allow time for parking, security, and check-in. Keep your booking confirmation or parking receipt accessible on your phone. At the parking entry, have your ticket or QR code ready, and note your parking level and bay number so you can find your car easily on return.
Arrival and Security Procedures
Follow the signs to your chosen parking type as you enter the terminal area. After parking, take a photo of your parking level and bay number. If you are using valet, keep your valet ticket safe, as you will need it to collect your car.
Avoiding Common Mistakes
A frequent mistake is parking at the wrong terminal. Always check your departure terminal before you enter the parking area. Another common error is ignoring time limits, which can lead to higher charges. Finally, failing to pre-book during busy periods can leave you searching for a space. Plan ahead to avoid all three.
Accessibility and Special Needs Parking
Accessible parking spaces are available at DXB for passengers with reduced mobility. These spaces are located close to the terminal entrances. If you need assistance, contact the airport or your airline in advance to arrange help from the parking area to check-in. EV charging points are also available at some DXB parking areas for electric vehicle owners.
