Dubai International (DXB): As the world’s busiest airport, Dubai International (DXB) comprises three terminals (1, 2, and 3). Terminal 3 includes three concourses (A-Gates, B-Gates, and C-Gates) exclusively serving Emirates, Flydubai, and Qantas flights. Terminal 1 Concourse D (D-Gates) caters to a wide range of international airlines, while Terminal 2 (F Gates) provides access to both regional and international flights.

Navigating to your gate: For Terminal 1’s D-Gates, a short airport train ride is all it takes. In Terminal 3, passengers can conveniently walk between B-Gates and C-Gates, or use the airport train for A-Gates. If you require transfers between concourses and terminals, please consult with your airline or approach our friendly ‘May I Help You’ staff upon arrival.

Dubai World Central (DWC): Situated approximately 40km away from DXB, Dubai’s second airport, DWC, may be involved in your connection. In such cases, you must clear immigration and collect your baggage before proceeding to Ibn Battuta station via taxi or Dubai Metro. At Ibn Battuta, you can easily catch a dedicated bus to DWC.

Here’s an overview of how DXB handles passenger transfers:

Finding your transfer desk:

  • Signage: Clear signs throughout the airport guide you to transfer desks.
  • Interactive maps: Digital maps at information booths and throughout the terminals help you locate your transfer desk or gate.
  • Guest Experience Ambassadors: These friendly airport staff can assist you with any questions or concerns regarding your transfer.

Terminal layout:

  • DXB has three terminals: Terminal 1 (primarily international airlines), Terminal 2 (mix of regional and international airlines), and Terminal 3 (Emirates, Flydubai, and Qantas).
  • Terminal 3 has Concourses A, B, and C: You can walk between B and C, but need the airport train for A.
  • Terminal 1’s D-Gates require a short train ride.

Navigating to your gate:

  • Within Terminal 3, you can walk between B and C gates or use the train for A gates.
  • For transfers between terminals or concourses, consult your airline or ask “May I Help You” staff.

Connecting to DWC:

  • Dubai World Central (DWC) is another airport around 40km away.
  • If your connection involves DWC, you’ll clear immigration and collect baggage at DXB before taking a taxi or metro to DWC.
  • A dedicated bus connects Ibn Battuta metro station to DWC.

Additional tips:

  • Listen to airport announcements: They provide crucial information about gate changes and connections.
  • Check flight information screens regularly: These update in real-time and show any changes to your flight or gate.
  • Allow ample time for your transfer: Consider security checks, immigration queues, and walking distances.
  • Don’t hesitate to ask for help: If you’re unsure about anything, approach “May I Help You” staff or airline representatives.
